About Donating to the FSWM
- Donations are administered by our umbrella organization, The Highland Park Heritage Trust
- We are a non-profit organization and all donations are tax deductible
- Small or large donations will help the FSWM move forward with an advocacy program intended to assure that the nationally significant Southwest Museum site is not closed
- If you are a foundation or major donor to the Autry Museum with a passion for Native American art and culture and archeology, please specify that your donation will help fully reopen the Southwest Museum as a museum in Mount Washington, its original historic setting. This large collection could support several exhibitions simultaneously.
Volunteer with the FSWM
- Put your love of heritage and Los Angeles’ earliest neighborhoods to good use: join our planning effort to build a Living Museum Cultural District in which the Southwest Museum and the Casa de Adobe sites tell the stories of the area
- Walking tour docents, researchers, smart phone app developers, webmasters and others are needed
- Film students or film makers: contact us about our idea for a series of short videos to further the Friends’ advocacy efforts
- Museum studies students or professors: the story of the Southwest Museum/Autry merger is a fascinating study. We have significant documentation to support your research
- Communications students or professionals: our public relations and advocacy program offers opportunities for you to gain experience on an important public interest issue
